With over 30 families already signed up to participate, the inaugural year of "Plant-A-Row for the Hungry" is off to a great start! On Saturday, March 28th, a kickoff event was held at Marshall Garden & Pet in downtown Aberdeen. Food Bank Representatives from Hoquiam Food Bank, Salvation Army and Ocean Shores Food Bank, Grays Harbor Master Gardeners, Timberland Library, the YMCA, ARC of Grays Harbor, Jay's Farm Stand and Organics 101 were featured as vendors. Every Harborite who pledged to help in the effort of increasing fresh produce in the food banks through planting extra food themselves, received a free starter kit to get their gardens growing. Thanks to all who helped make this event a success!
