Windy Days in the Garden

If you've spent time in the Cultivating Roots garden before, you've felt the strong ocean breeze that blows through the garden in the afternoons. While it can be refreshing for us to have a cool breeze on our faces, many of our plants do not enjoy it as much. Constant wind can stress-out plants and cause them to grow slowly and produce less food. That's why on Monday we will be building a wind break on the back fence using some garden lattice. Come out on Monday June 29th from 3:00-5:00pm and help us with this very important project. We will also be harvesting some fruit and vegetables that have just started to ripen-up in the past week- including peas, beets, kohlrabi, and berries!
